New Home Gift Ideas On A Budget!

By Siti Nurhaliza 3 min read Updated:

If you know someone moving into a new home and need some inspiration for the gift you should get them, you’re in the right place! We’re here with a range of different gift ideas to suit different budgets, from funny gifts to thoughtful ones, as well as options for people that you know really well and then also people who you might struggle to choose a gift for.

Home Fragrance

First up, everyone wants their home to smell nice, right? Well, home fragrance is the perfect go-to gift for anyone. Choose a candle or reed diffuser in a scent you really like, and the beauty of this is you can tailor the price to every kind of budget, whether you want to spend £5 or £50.

You could also opt for personalised candles if you’re buying for someone you know really well, perhaps an inside joke or something a bit tongue in cheek. Or, if it’s someone you don’t know as well, then you could get it personalised with their house number and street name or something similar just to give it that thoughtful touch.

Kitchen Serving Platters

If the person you’re buying for loves to cook or have guests over, then a great gift for their new home would be kitchen serving platters. When someone is moving into their home, often they have all the essentials, but it’s those extra bits that they might not think about buying themselves but they bring something special to the space.

We absolutely love a wooden board with a few little bowls (either matching or different ones for something more unique), to put things like bread and dips on when guests are round. Again, like the candles, the beauty of this is that you can spend as much or as little as you want on this.

A Food Delivery Voucher

When someone is moving into a new home, it’s usually pretty hectic, there are boxes everywhere and it can feel very overwhelming. So, something thoughtful and easy you can get for them, again to suit any budget, is a food delivery voucher! This will help them to just sit back, relax and enjoy some good food whilst everything else around them is pretty chaotic.

A Money Tree

Any home can be brought to life with the right plants, and a hint of green makes any space feel nice and homely. So, get them a money tree! They are known to bring good luck, and they can watch it grow over time when they’re in their home. It’s also easy to care for, so an ideal gift whether they’re an experienced plant career or not!

Nice Glasses

A kitchen can never have too many glasses, right? If the person you’re buying for is a wine or cocktail connoisseur, then get them some nice and unique glasses that they will love to bring out on special occasions or when guests are around. This could be wine glasses, champagne flutes or fun and quirky cocktail glasses that will get conversations flowing!
